Today I took a flight
to come and say hello.
I put on
my brightest smile.
I lit up my eyes
with a warm glow.
I want to share with you
memories of a silent past,
alive only in dreams.

Instead, I found an endless sky –
guardian of light souls.
A soothing blue,
a blanket of free breaths.
Soft clouds,
pillows for melodious yet orphaned words.
Sunlight,
generous with wishes, food for the long nights.

I took a flight today
to come and look for you.
And once again,
I found you sitting, having coffee,
inside one of my memories.
